Historical Society opens two new shows

As the Milwaukee County Historical Society's own neighborhood is likely set to change soon with the addition of a new arena nearby, the museum - located at 910 N. Old World 3rd St. - launches a new exhibition, called "Pride in Place: Milwaukee's Architecture and Built Environment," which runs through April 10. Another show focuses on a century of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.

Milwaukee Public Museum set attendance record this weekend

The Milwaukee Public Museum and Greater Milwaukee Foundation teamed up this weekend to present the first of 12 "Gifts to the Community," a program established by the Foundation to provide the public with unique experiences that showcase the people, places and opportunities that make greater Milwaukee special. More than 26,000 people visited MPM during the all-access, free weekend, making January 24 and 25, easily the busiest two days in the Museum's 130-year history.

Greater Milwaukee Foundation chooses new "Healthy Neighborhoods"
