Madison lets the sun shine in
Here's an idea that could lower Milwaukee heating and electric bills. The City of Madison kicked off a program to double that city's use of solar energy by 2010. It even has a catchy name -- MadiSUN.

Wi-Fi group admits system disconnect

Picking on PIC: Job training might need to be switched
Mayor Barrett received a huge boost this week in his effort to wrest control of federal job training funds from the Private Industry Council and put them under the auspices of City Hall. Gov. Jim Doyle said he would support a change that would give the city $14 million in federal funds to run job-training programs.

City ponders Wi-Fi broadbanding Brew Town
Back in April, the City of Philadelphia announced that it would expand its Wi-Fi network to cover the city's entire 135 square miles. According to Milwaukee's Chief Information Officer Randy Gschwind, Milwaukee is also working to circumvent the wires.
