It took time for the 4-year-old-tavern McKiernan's to find its legs, but recently, it underwent changes and introduced a new menu - including lunch options - and a Guinness Club. The bar and grill has a similar look and feel as Barnacle Bud's, which makes sense, considering it has the same chef and owner.

When the iconic Derry Hegarty's Irish Pub, 5328 W. Blue Mound Rd., went up for sale, Sean Burke knew it was a good fit for him. Burke's Irish Castle, a modern Irish gastropub still rooted in a Milwaukee tradition, will celebrate a grand opening the weekend of Sept. 14-16.
