53212 Unity Ride aims to connect two similar, yet diverse neighborhoods

The 53212 Unity Ride hopes to help bridge that demographic gap with an slow-rolling, exploratory bike ride that will bring together numerous community organizations from several diverse neighborhoods to look at gardens, murals and other historic points of interest.


Doors Open Milwaukee: Mapping and exploring the city's patchwork quilt

My role as cartographer, or map maker, for Doors Open is to help provide an easy-to-read map that guides you to any and all of the sites and tours that will be open on Sept. 19-20. Beyond the scope of providing directions to sites with the maps, I get to observe how Doors Open Milwaukee becomes a more inclusive way to get to know the City of Milwaukee and its nearby suburbs.


Greater Milwaukee Foundation chooses new "Healthy Neighborhoods"

The Greater Milwaukee Foundation has designated four more neighborhoods as part of the Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative: Harambee, Riverwest, Kinnickinnic River Neighborhoods (KK River) and Polonia, reports Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service.
