Measles vaccination rates improving but potential for outbreak remains

In Milwaukee, 89 percent of K-12th grade students have their required vaccinations, an all-time high, and three percentage points higher than the rate in 2013, according to a new report from Milwaukee NNS. The compliance rate at Milwaukee Public Schools is 90 percent, according to Tony Tagliavia, spokesman for the district. That rate is not high enough to protect Milwaukee residents from an outbreak of a disease such as the measles.

Although Wisconsin passed the smoking ban in 2009, e-cigarettes were not included in the legalese, and consequently, vaping in public places remains lawful and has become increasingly popular in bars. People are divided on the issue and, due to a lack of information, are often uncertain about whether or not there are risks.

Moore's statement against attacks to reproductive health

Today, Congresswoman Gwen Moore offered a motion to recommit to H.R. 7, the "No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act." The motion would prohibit any violation of the medical privacy of a woman regarding her personal choice of health insurance coverage, including victims of rape and incest. The Congresswoman released the following statement.
