Honeypie shows promise
There is much to like about Honeypie, 2643 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., the Bay View restaurant owned and operated by the same folks that have done great things with Comet Cafe, Palomino and Fuel. But while Honeypie's atmosphere and menu are pleasing, there are still some kinks that need to be worked out.

Milwaukee's best new restaurant, 2009: Honeypie
Opening in May 2009, Honeypie Café re-claimed the Bay View space formerly occupied by Annona Bistro. The home-style eatery is a joint effort by restaurateurs Scott Johnson, Leslie Montemurro and Adam and Val Luck.

Oh, Honeypie
After months of working hard to rehab the former Annona Bistro space at 2643 S. Kinnickinic Ave., restaurateur Scott Johnson (Fuel Café, Comet Café, Balzac, Palomino, Hi Hat Garage) says he and his business partners -- Leslie Montemurro, and Adam and Val Lucks of Comet -- are almost ready to unveil the goods.
