When Mike Morgan started working at Harley-Davidson and riding motorcycles way back in 2001, it was unusual to see women riders on the road, at rallies or just about anywhere. Today, any driver who looks out for motorcycles notices the dramatic increase in women riders.

At a news conference held earlier today at The Pfister Hotel, event organizers of the Milwaukee Air & Water Show, presented by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, announced the highly anticipated return of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds to headline this year's show July 25 and 26 along Milwaukee's lakefront.

As a lifelong local baseball fan, some of my favorite pictures are of Milwaukee Braves' players riding in motorcycle sidecars at County Stadium in the 1960s. Of course, there's another classic motorcycle image from County Stadium in 1982 featuring Robin Yount, except he was on a Honda dirt bike instead of a Harley. These really cool vintage pictures show the long-time connection between motorcycles and sports in Wisconsin.

A lot of us couldn't make the Aug. 11 premiere of "Honor Flight" at Miller Park, or were too busy around the holidays to catch the viewings offered by Marcus Theatres on Pearl Harbor Day in December. Luckily, we're getting another chance. This month, Marcus Theatres will show the emotional documentary at eight Wisconsin locations.
