With the help of their mom, Alexia and Seth Kempe invented the HoodiePet. Hasbro and the Chicago Toy and Game Group nominated the children for a "Young Inventors of The Year" TAGIE award that recognizes toy and game inventors from around the world. And they won.

Today, the hoodie is an extremely popular clothing garment. One local mom decided to take the hoodie hoopla to a higher place with her new project, "Hoodie Nation: The United States of Hoodies Photo Project -- Hoodies for the Homeless."

Louise Kempe came up with one of those ideas that make other people, particularly moms, wonder why they didn't think of it first. Kempe's creation, the HoodiePet, is a hybrid of a fleece, cuddly hoodie and a plush toy that Velcros to the pocket of the jacket.
