Izumi's, 2150 N. Prospect Ave., has earned a reputation in Milwaukee for friendly, accommodating service, as well as a tasty menu that doesn't break the bank. While it didn't win last year, OnMilwaukee.com readers have again chose Izumi's as their favorite Japanese restaurant. Sake Tumi and Fuyiyama almost tied for second and third places.

Nanakusa, 408 E. Chicago St., is one of Milwaukee's veteran sushi restaurants and, for the first time, beat out Izumi's for the title of Milwaukee's best Japanese.
