A veteran of Milwaukee's theater scene, Johnson is about to embark on a job he's done before but is more daunting than building a set, directing a play or playing a gig. Johnson is the guiding spirit behind the new theater company Umbrella Group Milwaukee, starting up this summer.

John Patrick Shanley, who won a Pulitzer Prize for "Doubt," takes on the whole financial mess and mixes it with an examination of personal ethics, politics, faith and religion in "Storefront Church." Then, he tosses in some of his funniest writing ever. Luckily, Windfall Theatre does justice to a work that has tremendous ambition.

The words of the English language in all its glory are the tools that George Bernard Shaw used over and over and over to create "Don Juan in Hell." So it's surprising that the most moving and spine-tingling moment of the production that is now at the tiny Boulevard Theatre was a moment that played without any words.
