Mississippi Cactus quenches thirst for rock and roll
Known for high-energy three-hour sets, Mississippi Cactus has a work ethic that does not lend itself to long breaks. When singer Brian Kasprzak moved to San Francisco in October, the band was dormant for several months. The hiatus ends with a show Friday night at Club Garibaldi, 2501 S. Superior St.

Re-formed Probers launch second disc and then re-split
The Probers third album, "Worn Down: Hits, Kicks, Bruises and Unfinished Business," was officially released last weekend. The album is a 20-song compilation of live recordings, studio cuts, new songs and old favorites from their now out of print first album.
