Dave Begel's latest list, of course, was well read, shared and discussed. It also led to others creating similar lists. One came from Alex Runner. Via Facebook, Runner, a former aid to Ald. Willie Hines, current blogger and civic leader, posted his take on MKE's most important people. I asked him if we could share it, so here it is.

Last year, developer / green entrepreneur / sustainable Milwaukee advocate Juli Kaufmann was honored with the Milwaukee Business Journal's Women of Influence award. This year, she served as the keynote speaker and delivered a speech that people will be talking about for a long time. And not just because it rhymed.

If Carolyn Weber and Tristan Klein get their way, Walker's Point will offer Milwaukee's first hostel-style hotel called Third Coast Inn. The question, however, is where exactly the hostel will be located.
