We're no strangers to Kenosha. We've been to the public museum, we've taken streetcar rides, we shop at Tenuta's. But we'd never seen the Dinosaur Discovery Museum before, so over the holiday break, I loaded the kids into the car and after the mandatory Tenuta's stop, we headed straight over.

A sort of homecoming for Fruit Bats

Summerfest's opening day marks a sort of homecoming for Fruit Bats. Though the group got its start in the Windy City in the late '90s, its frontman and founder Eric Johnson, who has also worked with Califone and The Shins, was born in Kenosha and spent part of his youth there. Fruit Bats play the U.S. Cell Stage at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27.
