As Record Store Day and its accompanying vinyl avalanche nears, and as talk has turned to McCartney concerts and a reissue of "Wings Over America," I've found myself transported to the dawn of my vinyl obsession.
The LGBT Film / Video Festival is holding one of its monthly screenings on Thursday, Aug. 9, with Andy Warhol's film "Kiss" at the Lynden Sculpture Garden. The open-air screening of 13 couples kissing is co-sponsored by the LBGT Community Center.
Sometimes a kiss will do, but sometimes one-quarter of a faux KISS might be an even better gift. One Delafield musician will spice up your party, wedding or other event by appearing as former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley. And, by the way, Brian Schenk gives guitar lessons, too.
