Midwest Yarn gets tangled up in Bay View

Melina Gingras learned to crochet by watching her mom when she was a little girl, and within a few years, she was, ahem, hooked. With this in mind, it's no surprise that Gingras went on to become a talented, impassioned yarnsmith who recently opened a shop, Midwest Yarn, at 3385 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. in Bay View.


Loop Yarn Shop is closing

Loop Yarn Shop, 2963 N. Humboldt Blvd., will close at the end of September. Owner Caitlin Walsh says the business, which opened seven years ago, is closing because of the economy.

City Life Boutique offers hats, caps and more

Perhaps you have noticed the large building on the west side of I-43 near Downtown with the words "Hats Caps" on the facade. The business has been around for three decades and it's called City Life Boutique, 1325 N. 12th St.


Loop makes the leap to Riverwest
