The LGBT Film / Video Festival is holding one of its monthly screenings on Thursday, Aug. 9, with Andy Warhol's film "Kiss" at the Lynden Sculpture Garden. The open-air screening of 13 couples kissing is co-sponsored by the LBGT Community Center.

On the surface, the plot of "Gun Hill Road" sounds potentially predictable. A macho guy gets out of prison and struggles with the fact his wife has taken a lover and his teenaged son is gay. But it's not. See it at the LGBT Film Fest on Sunday, Oct. 23.

Last week I told you about Take One, Milwaukee's Film's children's festival that takes place during the larger event, Sept. 23 through Oct. 3, and Piemonte Cinema, the Italian film event I'm organizing at Discovery World on Nov. 11-12. Also on tap this autumn is the 23rd annual Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival, which runs Oct. 21-24.
