Bookended by AJ Bombers and Water Street Brewery, Water Street is famous for three Bs: bars, burgers and bros. The tightly packed combination of those things has made the area a popular nighttime hot spot. Yet amongst all of the bars and clubs is something unexpected: A. Werner Silversmith, a buried treasure - quite literally considering its glass cases and shelves containing shimmering, beautifully repaired silver pieces - hiding in plain sight.

Darin and Dimity Grabowski opened Think Resale Shop, 1017 W. Mitchell St., in 2011. Earlier this year, they bought the building next door and expanded their vintage / thrift shop. "I love Mitchell Street. The old meets the new here," Dimity says.

Alan Gaulke was a trumpet player, music teacher and conductor who enjoyed, on his own time, helping people find the perfect - and most affordable - instrument. In 1971, he combined his passions and opened the first Brass Bell Music Store in Hales Corners. Today, Gaulke's daughter, Tristann Rieck, owns the thriving music business that's now located in Glendale.
