Wild Earth Cucina opened at Potawatomi Bingo Casino in September 2012, under the watchful eye of Chef Audrey Vandenburgh and has since become a popular dining destination for Menomonee Valley gamers, but that would appear to have been expected, according to the casino's own research. As of about a month ago, Wild Earth Cucina has dipped a toe into the lunch waters, opening from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, to offer more options to visitors on the casino's popular Senior Day each week.

Long lines don't scare me away as long as I know that my order will be taken correctly and promptly after the wait. But I'll argue that there's one driving factor that over rides all others when you're deciding where to dine: convenience.

When MPS tweets that its lunch of the day is mock chicken leg a flurry of quippy replies follows. Recently, some folks on Twitter even changed their profile image to a shot of the much-maligned, but also much-beloved mock chicken leg.

I had never dined at Mai Thai, which currently inhabits the location, until this week, under its new ownership. I stopped in for lunch, where I had a great meal at a good price - $8.95 for appetizer, soup and an entree - and chatted with co-owner Eric Grethe.
