For Jose Zarate, restaurant ownership has been a series of ups and downs. The once-packed Walker's Point La Fuente has struggled over the past five years and is no longer a hotbed of nightlife for both urban and suburban dwellers. Whether or not La Fuente will spring back to what it once was is unknown, but Zarate is not giving up.

For some reason the "where's Milwaukee's best burrito" conversation just doesn't happen as much here as it seemingly does in other cities. We love our food, but the battle for best burrito isn't top of mind.

La Casa de Alberto opened in the former Lopez Bakery space, 624 W. National Ave. The owners, Alberto and Laura Gonzalez, worked at Conejito's for 18 years. Alberto worked in the kitchen and Laura tended bar.
