San Diego's Peter Zien has ties to Wisconsin and he recently introduced his craft beer, AleSmith, to the Milwaukee market. It is currently available at Rumpus Room and some area liquor stores.

On Dec. 2, 1987, brothers Russ and Jim Klisch opened a small microbrewery on Chambers Street in Riverwest. To celebrate the milestone they will - you guessed it - brew more beer. Here are the plans for the year-long celebration.

I assume other cities and brewers see Wisconsin as a homeland of quality beer that can stand against anything produced in another state. But lately, I've sometimes had the feeling that everyone thinks that about their own state. So, is there truth to our claim?
