For 30 years now, the East Side’s Farwell Avenue has been graced with a tiny little restaurant affectionately deemed Abu’s, shorthand for Abu’s Jerusalem of the Gold, 1978 N. Farwell Ave.

Abu's to renovate and reopen
According to a sign on the door, Abu's Jerusalem restaurant, 1978 E. Farwell Ave., has closed, but will reopen by the end of April, after renovation work is completed.

Shi Chai fires up Mediterranean comfort food, hookahs
Shi Chai opened quietly in Riverwest last week, and thanks to a cozy-yet-spacious atmosphere, stellar menu and "shisha" smoking, it's the most promising venture to open in the area since African restaurant and nightclub, Club Timbuktu.
