Through all of the injuries, a silver lining exists for the Green Bay Packers defense. Throughout the year, at least 14 players aged 24 or younger have started or seen playing time. Such youth has led to some hiccups, but this young group feels it's about to hit its stride.

Every week in the NFL, teams practice with 53 men on its rosters. On game day however, that number shrinks to 46. It's often due to health - it gives players who aren't quite ready for game action a day of rest - but it doesn't make it any easier for those watching on the sidelines.

With one pre-season game and two regular season games in the next 16 days, it might seem like the team for teaching is over - but that is not the case when there are 27 first or second-year players still on the roster.
