Bunkie Miller woke one day this week with her mind spinning bike routes off the Milwaukee County Oak Leaf Trail to McGovern and Doctors Parks. Both locations have been added as stops on the 2013 Oak Leaf Discovery Tour, compelling Miller to navigate and pedal more miles to replicate last year's successful adventure - a group ride to collect all of the tour passport stamps in one day.

Rolling at a steady four mph, Brad Dobbs has outpaced me and hundreds of others on his Oak Leaf Trail Discovery Tour. By bicycle, I've collected 10 of the 14 Discovery Tour Passport stamps at parks scattered throughout Milwaukee County - from Grant to Dretzka. Dobbs has collected all 14, traveling by electric scooter.

The days of waiting for a decision on whether or not to include a bicycle and pedestrian path on the Hoan Bridge are nearing an end. In an effort to display the inadequate connector between the north and south portions of the downtown Milwaukee Oak Leaf Trail, Senator Chris Larson and Representative John Richards invited members of the Department of Tranportation to meet with a group of cyclists at the Humboldt Park Pavilion.
