You know how they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Well, this old dog has just learned a new trick, thanks to a letter from a friend that was the proverbial slap upside my head. I cry "uncle." Dropping sports would be next to impossible. So, what I'm going to do is try to stimulate the kind of things that will make the basketball program a force to be reckoned with.

A year ago, it took quite a bit of effort to put the ball in the basket for the University of Wisconsin-Milwuakee men's basketball team. This year, four players are in double figures and the team has increased its scoring average by 10, helping them to the top of the Horizon League.
