Hawthorn Glen is loads of fun
It's certainly not a secret if you live in the neighborhood, but I recently discovered Hawthorn Glen, a 25-acre park and nature center run by Milwaukee Public Schools and tucked away north of State Street in the shadow of the big water tower that also overlooks Hawley Road.

Salt Lake City and Austin have implemented reverse angle parking; should Milwaukee, too? It's easy to stripe, it provides more total spots on a street and it reduces blind spots.

Justin McGowan is the director of Milwaukee Turners Rock Climbing, which features an indoor rock climbing gym. This is the only climbing wall in the city where you don't need a membership to climb.

Riverwest neighbors spruce up green space
