I really don't care all that much about the annual polar bear plunge on the first day of the year at Bradford Beach. The idea of stripping down and running into a freezing lake, dunking yourself and then having your friends warm you up while they laugh like crazy just has never had much attraction for me.

I was born in Milwaukee. Chances are, I will die in Milwaukee. And in between these two events I've developed a rather dark sense of humor - which has led me to write this blog.

Monday, the day after the polar bear plunge, one lonely figure was out in waist deep water, wearing a wetsuit and using one of those machines that people use to search for coins and metal in the sand.

Because of the nature of my job, I've had the opportunity to experience Milwaukee in a way that not everyone else has. But that's not to say I've completely crossed everything off my Milwaukee "bucket list." Before I go to that great cheese castle in the sky, I've got more than a few experiences I must try.
