Frakes' food mixes innovation with The Pfister's rich history

For years, Chef Brian Frakes said he would move back to Milwaukee under one condition: if he was offered the position of executive chef at The Pfister Hotel. In 2006, the opportunity presented itself and Frakes returned to Brew City. For almost eight years, he has overseen all of The Pfister's food offerings and most recently added many new items to the Cafe at The Pfister's menu.

Black Sheep reveals renderings

Black Sheep, a full-service bar, restaurant and wine tap coming to 26 S. 2nd St. in Walker's Point in August, has released architectural renderings of the space and announced that it will be managed and operated by industry veteran Jessica Valona.

In 1938, newlyweds Rosalie and Alex Ferrante established the first Ferrante's Restaurant in central Milwaukee. A friend and I decided to check out the popular restaurant opened by their kids in Mequon, and we were pleasantly surprised by a Texas Ranch Pizza.
