One of the best things about live theater is that it doesn't ask much of an audience. Just give it a chance and it will most likely win you over. That is clearly the case with "Rock of Ages," the paean to big hair rock and roll of the 1980s that opened Tuesday night at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.

The '80s weren't all bad. We had lots of head-banging heavy metal music and it really tore the place apart. That's the heart behind "Rock of Ages," the Broadway musical running from Nov. 13 to 18 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.

"Rock of Ages" hits theaters today, which means diehard hair metal fans who just couldn't bring themselves to let go of their acid wash jeans and Def Leppard t-shirts (I'm looking at you, West Allis) can finally indulge in their nostalgia outside of '80s cover bands.
