For a variety of reasons, I've been thinking about Front Street, which now seems so ironically named, fronting as it does onto nothing and serving as the ultimate definition of a Milwaukee "backstreet." In my mind, I see something much different that can be seen on the block today.

Before you get your hackles up, we're not suggesting tippling with the toddlers. Nor do we recommend that you let junior share your julep. But, Milwaukee's got a pretty ingrained tavern culture, and there are times and places when you might consider taking your kids to a bar, for a specific reason (other than drinking).

Even at the more expensive restaurants in Milwaukee, you can usually find a great meal for under $10 - and we don't mean a side of grilled asparagus or a even a salad. With just a little research, you and your wallet can both leave full.
