The Santa Rampage is an annual event in Milwaukee that has reached cult-status, featuring hundreds of people in Santa suits - as well as a wide swath of various holiday-themed costumes - riding their bicycles through the city. The occasion is so beloved that even the dodgy weather of the season typically does not detract from the merriment or the number of riders who participate in these festivities.

"Everyone calls me 'Messy' or 'Santa,'" says Bill Mesenbrink during a recent visit to Johnson's Green 7, a Glendale bar and restaurant that's been around - and family-owned - for 51 years. Mesenbrink is enjoying retirement as a golfer, bartender and a booked-solid Santa Claus.

Parents have lots of different opinions on how to talk to kids about Santa. Personally, I was prepared for a variety of reactions when my kids learned that Santa was a myth, but as usual, they surprised me.
