Lovanova's find genre-busting inspiration in the Northwoods

No matter how you slice it, Milwaukee instrumental rock and roll quartet Lovanova is a Brew City supergroup. The band, led by Hammond B-3 organist Paul Kneevers - who was a member of The Probers, among many others, and is a respected producer and engineer, too - also includes drummer Dave Schoepke, guitarist Sean Williamson and bassist Joey Carini. To record its third CD, "Cabinova," the band headed up north.

Feerick releases new EP and stop animated music video - with a little help from

Feerick's latest record, featuring the single "Just Listen" and the B-side track "I Can't Say," was produced by Feerick and Sean Williamson and released earlier this month. It marks the beginning of what he plans will be an ongoing collaboration with well-known Milwaukee musicians Sean Williamson, Lodewijk Broekhuizen, Peter Thomas and Matt Wilson.

Bassist Matt Turner and guitarist Sean Williamson of Jimmy At The Prom are two guys that clearly haven't lost their attitude when it comes to music, which helps to create a nice sound around the vocals James Dahmann Jr. provides and Dave Schoepke's drum playing.

Friends take unorthodox approach to building up literary community

Sean Williamson, 25, and his friend Parker Winship, 24, are taking a populist approach to expanding Milwaukee's literary scene, sneaking handbill sized stories into free weekly newspapers, modeling online readings after songs and holding events in bars as they try and get people hyped on literature.
