Another El Rey will open on Oct. 15 at 5200 W. Oklahoma Ave. The newest addition to the local chain of Latin food stores is called El Rey Family Market and will stock Serbian and Polish items, as well.

As of late November, the kitchen at Moct was back up and running and producing a completely new menu. Whereas Cafe Fabrika served relatively upscale, traditional Serbian dishes such as cevapcici and sarma, Moct has scaled back a bit, though not in flavor.

If it's been awhile since you visited Old Town Serbian Gourmet House, 522 W. Lincoln Ave., you may notice that not much has changed. The restaurant, which opened in 1971, offers heavy, homemade food and reasonable prices in a setting that evokes the old times.

Serbian restaurants here are usually "mom and pop" places like Three Brothers or Old Town Serbian Gourmet, classic with consistent delicious and hearty cuisine, minus a hip nightlife. But Café Fabrika has broken that mold.
