Smithers comes out as gay as "The Simpsons" attempts to stay relevant

Television's worst-kept secret will no longer be a secret. According to a TV Line interview with "The Simpsons" executive producer Al Jean, Smithers, Mr. Burns' long-suffering assistant, will come out to his boss and to audiences this upcoming season - the show's 27th.


Colbert does his best Dr. Frankenstein impression in "Late Show" debut

The late night talk show is dead. With that being the case, Stephen Colbert seems to be having fun playing "Weekend at Bernie's," bringing a little weird oddball blip to its pulse - at least judging by last night's debut of "Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

The jazzy retro style of Guy Ritchie's "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." is slinky fun, but enjoy it while you can because, like a toddler, if you take your eyes off it for a second to grab your drink or glance at your watch or merely blink, it is gone, a whooshing little breeze where it once used to be on screen and in your mind. The projector might as well be one of those neuralizers from "Men in Black."
