Tuesday, Dec. 9 marks the fifth anniversary of Sabbatic, 700 S. 2nd St. Paul Kennedy, who will continue to pour at Tonic, also takes his first shift that night at the Walker's Point bar from 9 p.m. until closing time.

Over the past decade it seems as though half the East Side has moved down to Bay View, so perhaps its fitting that a neighborhood music festival is following suit. After six concerts over three years, Milwaukee Jazz Vision is moving its "Eastside Jazzfest" to Tonic Tavern, the Highbury Pub, Club Garibaldi and Studio Lounge, as the Bay View Jazz Fest makes its debut during Bay View Gallery Night.

Bryant's has had a mighty fine past 365 days. Esquire (the television network) dropped by for a brandy Old Fashioned on its special "Best Bars in America," then Esquire (the magazine) named the cocktail lounge as one of the best bars in the country.
