USA Triathlon takes over Milwaukee

The USA Triathlon Sprint National Championships were held downtown Milwaukee over the weekend, and the city witnessed nearly 5,000 athletes from every state in the nation on the lakefront, centered around the Milwaukee Art Museum and Discovery World. Milwaukee drew the country's top triathletes in all age groups because the top 25 finishers in each age breakdown earned a spot for USA Triathlon's Team USA, an amateur group that will represents the country at various multisport world championship events.

Pewaukee Triathlon: Swim test adds safety for race rookies

While Braun touted Pewaukee as the first triathlon in the country to impose a swim-test rule for rookies, water safety has become a main point of emphasis for the roughly 4,300 events sanctioned by USA Triathlon each year, and for good reason. At least four people have died swimming in triathlons in Wisconsin over the past four years.

Milwaukee scores a big win with USA Triathlon Championships

Weeks before 250,000 Harley-Davidson enthusiasts roll into Milwaukee for the motorcycle maker's 110th anniversary, the city will host a national event fueled by a different form of adrenaline. Roughly 3,500 of the country's fastest endurance athletes will create a roar of their own in the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships, Aug. 10 and 11.

West Bend athlete beat clock in race to save his brain

With his doctor's stamp of approval, Karl Schultz will get back to competition this summer, racing against himself and the clock in triathlons and marathons. It's a fortunate return, only possible because a year ago he beat the clock in his most important race, the one to save his brain.
