Whiskey Bar revives the spirit of Jackson St. spot
Mike Vitucci, whose family owns and operates the 75-year-old Vitucci's Cocktail Lounge at 1832 E. North Ave., is opening Whiskey Bar kitty corner from Cathedral Square Park at 788 N. Jackson St. Whiskey Bar doesn't officially open until July, but Vitucci invited OnMilwaukee.com over for a preview tour of the spacious venue.

Best Riverwest bar, 2009: Nessun Dorma
For the third year in a row, OnMilwaukee.com readers picked Nessun Dorma as Riverwest's best bar. The pub -- which is also a popular restaurant -- offers 80 different kinds of beer and lager, as well as a few dozen types of wine by the glass or bottle, including red, white, sparkling, sake and more.

A drink a day: Big Jamo
St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner, and as you might know from a previous blog, I'm a sucker for cocktails made with ginger ale, so the Big Jamo is a seasonal favorite. Plus, "Big Jamo" is my nickname for my husband, whose name is James. Kidding. He'd like that, but still kidding.
