The holiday season is all about the senses, but usually it's talked about in the context of sights, tastes and smells. Colorful lights, pretty snowfalls, tasty food and the scents of holiday spice are the clich√©s du jour. People talk less about what the holidays sound like. Here are seven holidays sounds that are music to my ears - and none of them come from Christmas songs.

People ask me all the time what is the most important thing I've learned in 15 years of self-employment. That's an easy one: be agile. Trust your gut. Keep meetings short. Act on good ideas, don't try the bad ideas. Make good decisions even if they upset people occasionally.

The Santa Rampage is an annual event in Milwaukee that has reached cult-status, featuring hundreds of people in Santa suits - as well as a wide swath of various holiday-themed costumes - riding their bicycles through the city. The occasion is so beloved that even the dodgy weather of the season typically does not detract from the merriment or the number of riders who participate in these festivities.
