Mitch Teich, the executive producer of WUWM's "Lake Effect," isn't a native Milwaukeean. In fact, he's traveled around the country building his radio resume, but for the past seven years, he's called Wisconsin his home. And it shows. The 43-year-old host of the local interview show has taken the time to become an expert in the issues he covers on "Lake Effect." Teich says his job is like taking a midterm exam on a different topic every day.

A little over a year ago, radio veteran Make Keefe stepped in as 88Nine Radio Milwaukee proggram director during a time when several of Milwaukee's media were launching major criticisms of the station. During his time on the job, Keefe has helped to rework the station through both his love of music and the medium of radio.

I made my radio debut on WUWM (89.7) during its Lake Effect program on Wednesday, Sept. 3, as a guest food contributor, and will have the opportunity to do so every six weeks or so from now on.
