If you did read Simmons' stuff you'd soon realize that he knows the mathematics (i.e. money & salaries) of the game, he's not some charlatan.
Clearly he is not a prototypical NBA GM but other than Ernie Grunfeld, who have the Bucks had that actually have done a good job in the past 15 years?
This team seriously needs buzz, PR, and something to capture the fans attention. Yi was drafted for media attention both here in the US and A as well as China...a very savvy move to be sure. Winning is obviously the panacea but in the meantime this franchise needs to do something in order to attract attention from the passive fan. Getting a no-name GM who is likely going to be doing the job for the first time is only going to net the same results. They need to think out of the box on this one as the status quo has obviously NOT worked.
