MILWAUKEE -- Wisconsin's largest public art exhibit, The Beastie Beat, has gone virtual on OnMilwaukee.com.
After residents and visitors view the 58 full sized fiberglass Beasties scattered around downtown Milwaukee and other areas of the city, people can now send digital postcards of some of their favorite figures by visiting OnMilwaukee.com's innovative Postcard Section.
At the touch of a few keys, your favorite Beastie and a personalized message can be sent to anyone in the world. "It's a great way to send a little piece of Milwaukee to anyone this summer," said OnMilwaukee.com co-owner and VP Marketing Jeff Sherman.
Users can log on to onmilwaukee.com/postcard to view, send, customize, and download pictures of the famous Beasties. People can click on their personal favorite and then customize it with a personal message and send as an e-mail postcard to anyone in the world. Downloading a Beastie as a desktop image is another fun way to preserve the Beastie Beat experience and bring the Beastie right into one's home.
All the "live" musical themed Beasties are on display through Sept. 3, 2002. After Labor Day, the Beasties will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on Sat., Sept. 21. Their images will remain on OnMilwaukee.com indefinitely.
OnMilwaukee.com is Milwaukee's daily magazine and most comprehensive Internet City Guide. Featuring more than 1,400 bars and restaurants, classifieds and personals, festival guides, a live movie guide, online movie ticketing, weekly polls, traffic cameras, restaurant reviews, an event calendar, weather, news, exclusive features and much more, OnMilwaukee.com is a one stop shop for creative, local and easy-to-use Milwaukee information.
