MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee's only online magazine, OnMilwaukee.com, reported strong readership numbers for December 2004. In one of its biggest readership months in the company's six-year history, 431,609 people visited the sections of OnMilwaukee.com in December. These readers viewed 2,705,240 pages.

"The quality and quantity of our stories got bigger and better in December. It's a festive time of the year and we covered the city in a creative way that continued to draw more and more readers," said Andy Tarnoff, publisher and co-founder.

More people continued to use the site as their source for Milwaukee information, too. OMC asked its readers, "When you want Milwaukee information first, where do you go?" 73.4 percent said they went online first for Milwaukee information.

Other interesting data regarding OnMilwaukee.com's December readership:

  • 73% went directly to the magazine's site, rather than finding it through a search engine or another site

  • Readers spent nearly 9 minutes on average for each visit

  • On average, more than 72,000 pages each day were viewed.

"We are looking forward to more growth in 2005," added Tarnoff. He said OMC planned to add many new editorial features, columnists and more in the coming months.
