OnMilwaukee.com, Milwaukee's Daily Magazine, was named a finalist in the 13th annual EPpy Awards competition today in the category of " Best Entertainment Web Site with fewer than 1 million unique monthly visitors."

The 2008 EPpy Awards for the Best Media-Affiliated Internet Services are presented by Editor & Publisher and Mediaweek. The contest has been broadened beyond its original focus on the interactive newspaper industry to reflect both the maturing of the Internet industry, where media-affiliated sites compete for both users and revenues.

The EPpy Awards ceremony, will be held at The Rio in Las Vegas in conjunction with Editor & Publisher and Mediaweek's Interactive Media Conference and Trade Show, May 14-15, 2008. The EPpy Awards luncheon announcing the category winners will be held on Thursday, May 15.

"We had an incredible number of entries this year, and your site has been nominated as one of the leaders in the industry," said Matt Pollock of Nielsen Business Media.

The other finalists in the category are Indy.com (Indianapolis Star Media Group), LexGo.com (Lexington Herald-Leader), Metromix.com (Chicago Tribune) and vita.mn (Minneapolis Star-Tribune).

OnMilwaukee.com, now in its 10th year, is the only independent media company in the group. It took second place in the 2003 awards.

"We're honored to be considered for this award," said Andy Tarnoff, publisher and co-founder of OnMilwaukee.com. "It's another validation of the hard work by everyone on our staff."
