What is a blog? For us it is a short blurb that we write when the mood strikes us. It can be first person, funny or informative. In short, a blog is whatever we want it to be. Published Sept. 24, 2009 at 7:47 p.m.

The next election for Milwaukee Mayor isn't until 2012, so Barrett2010.com must mean that Tom Barrett is running for another office next year. Right?

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett hasn't officially entered the 2010 race for Wisconsin Governor, but Barrett2010.com has been registered with Campaign Control Center (C3) Systems, a company in Bayside that designs and manages content for campaign Web sites. The site isn't live yet, but the company that it's registered under provides a "web-based application with an integrated database" for campaigns. C3 developed Barrett's last campaign Web site mayorbarrett.com.

C3's campaign Web site program has been used by many politicians in Wisconsin, including Sen. Herb Kohl, Attorney General JB Van Hollen, Judge David Borowski and several others.

E-mails to the company haven't been returned, but the registration of the Web site does heighten speculation that the Milwaukee Mayor will throw his hat into the 2010 gubernatorial race.

Today, Rep. Ron Kind (D-La Crosse) announced that he'd stay in his congressional seat and not seek the Democratic nomination for governor. To date, Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton is the only Democrat who has announced. Two Republican candidates are in the race: Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker and former Representative Mark Neumann.

Barrett was re-elected Mayor in 2008 with 79 percent of the vote, the largest percentage a candidate has received in 40 years.

I am sure Barrett is a nice guy but he is, nonetheless, a typical clueless liberal. In fact, as mayor, does this guy do anything to encourage business or job growth in Milwaukee? Predictably, Barrett is under the thumb of union thuggery and is more concerned about "prevailing wages" in construction than making Milwaukee and Wisconsin attractive places to do business. As a typical liberal/socialist Barrett is intellectually dishonest and believes in the ridiculous federal deficit spending that is going to nearly bankrupt this country. Go Scott Walker!

Hmmmm.......I see sherman2010.com is available. As much as I like Tom Barrett, I'm not so sure he's the guy for the job. I really don't have a favorite but I feel like Wisconsin needs someone a little more dynamic, engaged with business, willing to bridge the Madison/Milwaukee gap. Maybe Barrett can do that, but I'm just not sold yet.

I sure hope so. Barrett will be the guy to beat, he's a great guy, very smart and can lead us forward. I'm for Barret for Governor 2010.

Barrett belongs in the mayor's office, no where else. As much as I like Barrett, I won't be voting for him in the 2010 election just to keep him here in Milwaukee.
