This list is updated frequently to reflect that latest information.

Thanks to the Delta and Omicron variants, COVID-19 is gonna keep hanging around for a while, so if you have been in populated public spaces recently or exposed to someone with the illness, getting tested is in everyone’s best interest – yours, those you care about, others you may not know. Luckily, there are many free locations in Milwaukee to get tested for COVID-19, but the rules vary, so read up before heading out.

There are many places you can go for a free COVID-19 test without a doctor’s order. If you have medical insurance, you can also call your doctor to find out which hospital testing sites are eligible to you. You do not need to have symptoms to get tested. If you are experiencing severe symptoms, call a doctor, go to an emergency care facility or call 911.

For a full list of COVID-19 testing sites across the state of Wisconsin – as well as updates on procedures, hours and processes – visit the Wisconsin Department of Health Service's website. And to help contain the spread, wear a mask in crowded situations and get vaccinated.

Test kits to-go are available at some pharmacies, but have been selling out quickly. Call ahead to ensure availability.
