Lakefront Soccerfest: June 15

Milwaukee Soccer Development Group (MSDG) is once against hosting its Lakefront Soccerfest, which will be held in conjunction with during the FIFA World Cup.

Where: Veteran's Park, 1010 N Lincoln Memorial Dr.

Hours: June 15, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Admission: Free, but there is an entry fee for the 3-on-3 tournament. Entry fees are based on age category: $50 per team up to U-18 and $80 per adult coed team. Teams may request financial scholarships.

Highlights: The event aims to promote diversity, sustainability, health and wellness, and fair play while featuring friendly 3-on-3 soccer games for kids under seven through adults along with a series of soccer-related activities for family members of all ages.

Soccer players and teams from all over Wisconsin are invited to join us. If any youth teams require financial assistance then there will be no charge and they will play for free.

Money generated through sponsorship agreements and food sales go toward providing soccer equipment and scholarships to youth soccer players in the greater Milwaukee area.

Also, volunteers will also be collecting "gently used" soccer equipment to be handed out to players in need.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. youths up to the age of 13 will have three hours of play are available with an hour of mini-games (including FootGolf, soccer tennis, and juggling), one hour of soccer skills, and three, 15-minute games of 3-on-3.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., two-hour slots are available for 3-on-3 games for youths under 14 through 18.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, 3-hour time slots are available for coed adult groups age 19-35 and coed adult groups age 35 and up.

The 3-on-3 squads do not have to be club teams and anyone may submit a team. Teams of six players are encouraged to register in advance. Every effort will be made to form teams from groups of less than six players. All teams must arrive and register 30 minutes before start time. Each team must bring two colored shirts for each player and at least one ball per team. Field schedules will be released on Thursday, June 12.
