Summerfest officials have announced the lineup of bands slated for the 2012 Emerging Artists Series, held on the U.S. Cellular Connection Stage.

The series will host the following up-and-coming bands and artists:

Fans will be able to vote via text message for a chance to earn their favorite band an "Emerging Artists Series Care Package." The top vote-getter from each day of Summerfest will leave with the package, which will include over $2,500 in gear and merchandise from leading manufacturers.

All bands are currently in the running for a spot on the 2012 Emerging Artists Series CD. Fans can vote for their favorite band at Summerfest.com through Friday, May 18. The top 11 vote-getters will be featured on the CD, which will be distributed at Summerfest and through various promotions and other events.

Summerfest 2012 will take place June 27-July 1 and July 3-8 from noon to midnight. The festival will be closed Monday, July 2.
