Quelling the State Fair scare
In response to the disturbances at last year's Wisconsin State Fair, fair organizers announced this morning several security measures that will be in effect for the duration of this year's fair, Aug. 2-12.
In addition to a bag search checkpoint, security will be upgraded with the collaboration of local law enforcement agencies and the implementation of new security cameras.
Fair organizers said at a news conference on Wednesday that they will also reinstate last year's youth admission policy, which prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from entering the park after 5 p.m. without an adult.
At the media event, State Fair Executive Director Rick Frenette also discussed the park's newest addition, Spin City, which will include new vendors, seating, games and two rides new to the U.S.
