State Fair continues to up the stick ante each year. Four years ago there were 32 foods on a stick, up one over the previous year. The following year, the count jumped to 44 choices.

Two years ago, fair vendors added a whopping 21 more options. Last year there are more than 70 menu items on a stick at the Wisconsin State Fair. This year, there are at least 83 options.

Of course, some of the items are the same but dished up by different restaurateurs and vendors. You've got to admit, 80 is still a pretty impressive stick count.

Among this year's crop are two delicious options from the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association.

The cran-crunch on a stick is an update of last year's new chocolate covered cranberries on a stick. The addition of granola gives this skewer a nice crispness. We approve.

Joining it this year is the cran-cookie on a stick. It's a good-sized cranberry cookie half-dipped in white chocolate and transfixed with a popsicle stick.

Both are available at the cranberry purveyors' booth in the Wisconsin Products Pavilion.
