Helmet check services at H-D anniversary support non-profit missions
Harley-Davidson and the Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity Hunger Task Force have a long-standing relationship. So it's no surprise that when roughly 130,00 riders descend on the Summerfest grounds this weekend for the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration, Hunger Task Force volunteers will be waiting inside the gate to help make their visit a little more convenient.
Volunteers from both organizations will be staffing two "helmet checks" just inside the South Gate and Main Gate at the Henry Maier Festival Grounds, offering safe storage for leathers and helmets upon. The service is free, but all tips will go to support the nonprofits' programs in the Milwaukee community.
"Our volunteers are really excited to be part of Harley Fest this year," said Brian Sonderman, executive director of Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity. "We're thrilled we can help celebrate Harley-Davidson, which is not only a great supporter of our mission, but also truly a great homegrown foundation that has worked to support the City of Milwaukee."
