Summerfest headliners announced for Jo Jo's Martini Lounge

Summerfest officials announced the 2011 headliners for Jo Jo's Martini Lounge Wednesday.

They are:

Wednesday, June 29 – Hot Sauce

Thursday, June 30 – Sweet Tarts

Friday, July 1 – Eddie Butts

Saturday, July 2 – Rhythm Kings

Sunday, July 3 – 5 Card Studs

Tuesday, July 5 – The Crisis

Wednesday, July 6 – Old Mil

Thursday, July 7 – Cold Sweat and the Brew City Horns

Friday, July 8 – The Toys

Saturday, July 9 – The Love Monkeys

Sunday, July 10 – Barbeez

(All shows begin at 8 p.m.)

The final slate of top acts will be announced Thursday at 5 p.m. when headliners for the Cascio Interstate Music Groove Garage are announced at Cascio Interstate Music, 13819 W. National Ave., in New Berlin. All who attend the party receive a free ticket for Summerfest's opening day.

The dessert vodka trend began in 2010, and really picked up momentum in 2011, with cake, whipped cream, frosting and marshmallow vodkas gaining in popularity. Especially with women.

Old Mil ends 15-year run

It began as a lark in 1996 as fraternity brothers, members of Beta Theta Pi at UW-Oshkosh. Saturday, after 15 years, hundreds of shows, countless covers, some old original favorite standards, and even a few personnel changes, Old Mil will play its final show.

A new 5 Card Studs CD!

Usually, when you see The 5 Card Studs, the band is the evening`s sole entertainment. But that`s not the case this weekend, when the Studs not only share the stage, but alternate sets with Radio Radio on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Bay View Brewhaus.
